Week 3
For this week, David and I focused on adding our track design to the old guideway design. We also wanted to ensure that the third rail was fitted to our new track due to the new dimensions. Below are the two different dimensions. The dimensions will be in metric for the left and in inches on the right.

David focused his attention on combining both designs to fit our needs. After talking with a previous Spartan Superway team member, we were advised to work with wood and sheet metal to get something built faster and also keep the cost down. Below is an image of our design

Evelia focused on modifying the third rail. Since the track was new, we had to ensure that there would still be contact between the bogie and third rail. The new design added 5" to the supports. These will be welded onto a 2x2" bar that will be supported by two 1.5x4" bars hanging vertically from the top. Below is an image of the new third rail.
